re//: ok so his role is very complicated,, I’ve never actually really thought of it before lol- Charles’ main role is to deter and stop the EON (Eradication of Nekos organisation) from finding out the genetic makeup of nekos, basically stopping the EON from creating some super disease that can only kïll neko’s. he also become pretty vital to Zysto’s side and helps them fight from the sidelines. he’s also the only person ever to find out the genetic code, which he keeps a secret till his death qwq

re//: basically nekos were created in a lab many years ago as soldiers, but they broke out and the code was lost. for many years people have been trying to find it with no success. Charles is the only one to discover it, he really likes studying birds and found it out by accident. so whenever he senses someone is close to finding it out too, he puts red herrings and distractions in the way to stop them

re//: some do,, halfway through the storyline, Charles flees from the EON and join Zysto’s clan (all the nekos group themselves into ‘clans’ to better protect themselves), so everyone in that clan knows Charles is there to help, they just don’t know that he knows about the code. the only person who knows that is Ember, the main antagonist, who will literally do anything to get his hands on Charles :’)
