Ugh that sucks. I wish schools were more understanding of mental health :/// I had a really cool teacher in second grade who gave me fidgets and stuff even before I was diagnosed, and would let kids like take a walk down the hall and get a drink when they got too worked up, and if a kid was crying she would take them into the hall and be super friendly and calm them down, she was awesome and so understanding of how bad mental disorders and emotional/mental breakdowns could be. Also she had fun colored band aids instead of the normal brown ones, and had a cupboard full of granola bars and fruit snacks for the kids who didn't bring a lunch to school or forgot it at home or something. she was the best, I loved her

me everyday?? im at one of those states where im bored with everything besides sleeping shopping and watching netflix?? also listening to music and babysitting but like everything else is so boring and i used to love school sm?? highschool is actually the worst lol, the people are greta but the schoolwork is craaaaaap

My thoughts exactly. It does seem to be getting a bit better, though. I know some schools have entire units in Health class about mental illness, and my school had a few classes about handling stress well

True :/ I think there should be some law about educating kids about mental health and taking it seriously

I feel oddly inspired to look into making a bill for that law

I've never really had a panic or anxiety attack but from how my friend describes them they seem pretty similar to sensory overloads. Silence sucks during sensory overloads too sometimes, I need just a calm background noise like rain or something. Headphones in general are a blessing to this world
