Collab with the wonderful @GoofyGenius!! When Kat shared the idea of doing a collab where we'd both send each other a poem and then let the other make a collage for it, I was immediately sold. And honestly, she made a masterpiece!! Check Kat's acc too :)

AH! The wait was worth it! What a brilliant collab! Anouk, the poem is heart wrenching. Something about childhood/the past always wrecks me. I had a dilemma about childhood friends (I think I mentioned it to you in another one of your poems haha) and the poem speaks for itself. Like the line ‘theres always too little time’ hits different. Kat, you’ve captured all the feels perfectly. I especially like the layout..a jumbled mess is exactly what this feels like. And on top of that, the pinky promise just breaks me. You two devoured. *weeps in the corner*

Anouk, it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to get to work with you! You are a mastermind of words and telling stories and I’m just blown away that you were able to create something so beautiful with my words too?! Ahhh It’s even better than the time I got to show Stan Lee my comics in the fifth grade! 💗 While working with your poem there were so many questions going through my head: “what (or who) inspired this? who’s it for? and most importantly: I wonder what anouk would have made for this?” But, you trusted me with your words, and I did my absolute best to fully capture the essence of (my interpretation of) your poem.

I was also amazed by how this poem coincided perfectly with me letting go of temporary friends and reconnecting with my childhood friends! I had so many feels and memories when reading through your words and tried to encapsulate that experience by telling a story with the top as the past and slowly gradually morphing into the present with the main focal point being the pinky promise + text.

Hope my first garbled paragraphs weren’t too confusing haha! Would love to do this again at a later date as well <3

ps: the collage I posted is so distinctly your style, and the one you posted is very much my style, I wonder if anyone is getting bamboozled and confused 🤪
