it's a horror/dark romance set in Victorian times. there's a girl who's a horror writer and her publisher keeps making her put love plots in her stories bc "that's what female writers do" an bc of this she swears she's dying a widow. she's a princess and her father is king. a man comes to try and market his clay harvesting machine, and the princess's father is extremely rough in him. he later asks the princess to a ball and she attends out of pity. her father extremely disapproves. after a mysterious hooded figure smashes his head into a sink, he is dead, leaving the princess to marry the marketer. he takes her back to his home. his home is falling apart and in decay, and he lives only with his sister. the princess is uneasy in the house, doesn't like the tea served to her. during her first night asleep, she sees a bloody corpse roaming the decaying halls, a bleeding fetus in her hands. I'm not going to tell past here or else I'll spoil the movie, but let's just say it includes inćest, blood, poison, death, and ghosts
