black holes are actually the remnants of old, dead stars. Our sun is a star. When a black hole is being made from a dying star, the star grows to about 3x its size and then shrinks drastically. When our sun dies in thousands of years, it will be big enough to engulf the nearest planets. Mercury, Venus... maybe even earth...
