This is Lolita, an Orca. She has been trapped in her tank at Sea World. Did you know whales and dolphins are highly intelligent creatures that want and need to live in large, social, complex groups. When put in captivity, most of these animals are separated from their family's, which they need. They also love half the life span they usually do. They are put into tanks which are equivalent to our sized bathtubs. Imagine living in a bathtub your whole life? But I am not just aiming at Sea World. There are other places that keep these animals in captivity. Orcas try to beach themselves in order to escape this nasty place. Captivity needs to stop, and not just for sea creatures. Just thought you should know. There is no beauty in stolen freedom. #emptythetanks
