sorry I haven’t had time until now but... GUYS 🥺🥺🥺 my final marching band competition ever and we woN THAT GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP BABY 😭😭😭 I put the video from last night under my icon and I would really reallyyyyy appreciate it if you watched it. we have one more performance in two weeks for the senior night football game and I’m gonna be a mess oh no 😭 but seriously yesterday was ALSO a mess haha. yesterday was James and I’s three weeks and everythingggg was going wrong. it was raining when we got to school so we rehearsed inside and set everything up expecting to be inside for our performance later. the rain stopped briefly and we got one run in on our field with just the drum line before we left and it suuuuuuucked so we thought we were doomed. then we drove to the competition and everyone in my bus was screaming and everyone on James’s bus was screaming so we were texting each other like “happy three weeks!1!!1!1!!1😤” every time something went wrong haha. then we arrived and got out by BUS to eat and I’m on BUS SIX so we were last and I had forgotten to sign up for the meal so I ate some almonds that I packed. so we’re all sitting under this awning (all 200 of us) and the busses are parked right in front of us and me and James fine the smallest space of curb left available to sit and we had to sit a foot apart because there was water dripping from the awning right between us and I could NOT STOP LAUGHING bc everything that day was so freaking hilarious how it was turning out. out of nowhere it starts POURING sideways into underneath the awning where we all are and our bus drivers left so we had to find them so they could unlock our busses so we finally all run into our busses sipping wet and James and I are still high giving and saying happy three weeks and it was so chaotic. then we get out and move us into a gym and say that the comp is now indoors. then all of a sudden they say it’s outdoors and we all FREAK OUT like yesssss we get to perform outside and we get dressed in our uniforms and go to warm up and it was an 👌👌👌 amazingggg warmup guys wow and it was sprinkling the whole way through. then after the warm up the seniors got to lead the band chant and I was sobbinggggg :’((( then I find James and I get the crying out by then but the drizzle started coming down a little harder and we started to line up to go down to the field and march. y’all... the SECOND we get to the field the rain stopped and they were playing the YMCA and we marching in on the field dancing to it and we all knew that the universe was on our side bc it was the BEST RUN WEVE EVER DONE OF THIS SHOW and the SECOND we got off the field it started pouring again like... what????? I started sobbingggg during the end of our show when we played the hotel California part and the ghost balloons went up and the crowd went crazy :’) then after we rushed to get our uniforms off bc we were gonna be late for awards and if it rained again they didn’t want them to get messed up so we were the only leadership on the field without uniforms for awards😂 but YALL we got first in band, guard, and percussion, second in drum major, and we won the overall affect award AND GRAND CHAMPION OVERALL and when they called us we freaked OUT and I ran and hugged James and he didn’t wanna let go and I looked at him and he said “do you wanna kiss?” and I went “UUUUH” and I grabbed his arm and started spinning in a circle and I awkwardly laughed and I put my hand on his chin and I said “not right now but I WILL soon I PROMISE I just want it to be a more private thing” so I’ve officially declined a kiss a second time y’all I feel awful 😭 but we talked about it again afterwards and he said he just got caught up in the moment and he felt bad too and I told him it was okayyyy I just really really want that to be private with just me and him and he understands. anyways grand champions got blue medals and every senior got black medals it was so sweet all the bands got to applaud their seniors 🥺🥺

this is all so amazing 🥺 I’m so proud of you guys!!! it reminds me of my chorus comp when we were at Disney in a waTERPARK waiting for announcements on the winners and it started pouring rain with thunder and lightning 😂😂😭 we all bolted to the buses and were drenched in the rain in our bathing suits and flip flops. We didn’t know what we’d gotten until the next day lol. imma watch the video
