first things first, we’re all in denial that everyone dies cuz that’s super depressing and since there’s like five hundred different plot lines inside of les mis the fandom mostly focuses on the barricade boys cuz they’re very gay lol

so they have a lot of names, they’re called barricade boys, les amis, the abc club, and there’s a lot of them and they all have very french names that take a little while to pronounce lol

the chief is enjolras, and he’s pretty much the leader of the group, and then his main two people are combeferre and courfeyrac

and then there’s grantaire (my favorite), joly, jehan (aka jean prouvaire), feuilly, bahorel, and bossuet (aka leglés and i’m pretty sure i spelled both of those wrong but shh it’s okay) and then there’s also gavroche but he’s a tiny child and maRIUS TOO OFC

enjolras and grantaire are pretty much the main ones tho cuz it’s like 90% canon that they’re in love lol and for most of the story it’s one sided (grantaire loves enjolras and enjolras mostly finds him annoying lol) but yeah grantaire is a depressed cynic who doesn’t believe in the revolution and he’s drunk all the time but enjolras is one thing/person he admires and has faith in

enjolras is obsessed with the revolution and frustrated with grantaire’s lack of care in it bUT enjolras and grantaire’s death scene is vERY IMPORTANT and it’s sUPER SAD but it’s sO FÛCKING COOL cuz what happens is before the last battle of the revolution one of the last things enjolras says to grantaire is “you are incapable of believing, of thinking, of willing, of living, and of dying” and grantaire is like “you’ll see” and then during the battle enjolras gets cornered in a building and grantaire is sleeping nearby and he wakes up to see the national guard pointing guns at enjolras so he goes and stands next to enjolras and asks him for permission to die with him and enjolras taKES HIS HAND and then raISES THE RED FLAG HES HOLDING and then both of them get shot and it’s sAD but it’s so iMPORTANT for many reasons i don’t feel like explaining rn lol but i can send you posts that explain it better than i can

okay that’s just the tip of the iceberg but i’m tired and that’s all i feel like explaining lol so welcome to the les mis fandom it’s a fun time
