Umm... calm 🌊🌊 Idk what you thought I was saying, but I'm saying I wish feminism was as it once was.... and that I don't really call myself a feminist because it has turned into something different......
But I still think that in some ways this world needs feminism. I am playing no victim, I just believe in equal rights (bruh I want equal pay idk about you) and I wish for equal rights for the women in the rest of the world as well, although there is a process of history to go through, and sometimes women don't mind the oppression because it's a part of who they are, i.e. religion. I've been deterred from the concept because of all the crazy feminists out there who don't understand what it truly is to be feminist, but the original idea is key and I support that for the modern world.
Maybe I still sound like a hypocrite idk but I just really support equality. That's all. And I think some feministic ideas can help push for that.
Trust me. I've played the victim enough in life to know not to.
But have a lovely day❤️❤️
^ slay🙌🏼
so by this logic, is everyone who claims to be a Christian a real Christian? Are the members of ISIS who claim to be Muslims real Muslims?
that's not what I said. this had nothing to do with religion. it was about how feminists say "well then they aren't real feminists".
well they're not wrong
read the post again please.
I was providing you with other situations to apply your logic that everyone who claims to be part of a movement is a valid part of said movement
you missed the point. feminism is a lot different than religion.
the principle still applies, though
no it doesn't. feminism is a belief. religion is not only a belief but the way you act.
to truly belong to any movement, you have to practice what you preach. "faith without works is dead" so the Bible says. so to simply believe that feminism is necessary, and still behave in a way that is counterproductive to the goals of feminism, is to remove yourself from the feminist movement, at least in the eyes of the true feminist movement. actions speak louder than words
exactly, actions do speak louder than words.
exactly, so people who claim to be feminists and don't act the way a feminist should arent real feminists. it's that simple!
but if they believe in equality then they're a technically a feminist, right?!
no, they're just not a complete imbecile! a feminist is someone who wants equal rights for all women, and equal rights for all men. anyone who does not honestly view men and women as equals is not a feminist. they are either a misandrist or a misogynist. it's pretty simple
I could say the same thing about Christians, but I don't because I know that most of them aren't about spreading hate.. nor are most feminists.
