Maya hadn’t noticed the fire at all. she was far enough away that the smoke hadn’t reached her area yet.

eliza glanced out the door of the art room and that’s when she saw the flames. her eyes widened slightly and she had to push back a panic attack so hard. she opened the art room door and stepped into the hallways, on a mission to search for a fire extinguisher
carmina went up to the top floor. it was a place of bad memories from last year...but carmina was okay if she died in that fire. she didn’t know where all this emotion came from. but part of her felt like it was what she deserved...after all, she was a killer, thief, and kidnaper...
dalton was running around trying to find maya
London fell. Instead of getting back up, they rolled over and sat, watching smoke rose into the sky. // Leo got as far away as possible.
Maya finally smelled the smoke. she cussed and ran out of her dorm, making sure to grab a bag and put her more valuable items in it.
Zac blinked a few times, then rolled his eyes, “Let’s just get out of here you forehead— wait, which way is out?!” Zac asked, suddenly panicked
Ethan than jumps out of a window to get out of the school, luckily he doesn’t die but he completely shattered his left foot.

Astrid’s pluse slowly decreases and she dies.

dalton was having trouble breathing and leaning against the wall. in a low voice he say “maya...” and smiles
Carmina sat at the top floor of the school. she was calm
Kamryn cursed under her breath, “Okay, it’s okay. We just need to find a window and we’re good,” Kamryn said. However, the fire was closing in fast.
Myra runs around trying to find another exit and finds Remy, “Oh god...Are you okay?”
“Or we can-“ Zac suggested. Kamryn already knew where he was going with that. She raised her pointer finger, “No. Definitely not,”
remy coughed some more and looked up at myra. he looks like he’s about to cry and his face is all covered in ash. “i started this..” // eliza ventured further into the fire, the heat getting more intense until she opened a door to the auditorium.
Carmina started to smell the smoke, the fire was getting closer to her. she smiles slightly as a tear rolls down her face. she looks out the window to see nicolás searching the big crowd of people outside the school for someone...part of her hated the fact that she knew it was either her or everly...
Ethan calls 9-1-1 once he gets outside, “There’s a massive fire...”
Maya grabbed his shoulders. “What happened? What’s going on-“ she breaks out into a fit of coughs. “O-oh god I inhaled smoke.”
“This way,” Kamryn gestured, walking backwards and tossing back Zac’s sweatshirt. “I don’t need that anymore, thanks,” she said, before running down the hall to try and find an exit. Zac quickly followed searching.
“Oh good,” Myra muttered. “We’ll were going get you out of here and than we’ll worry about that okay?”
Eliza opens the auditorium, the room was filled with smoke, but no flames quite yet except for the other side of the room. and there it was. a single fire extinguisher. it wouldn’t do much, but she could probably slow it down before the firefighters come.
all the faculty got out thanks to mrs.jett’s help. as she tried getting the principal out he said “where are you going-“ and she said “i need to make sure we are all safe...” as she tries to go off he grabs her arm and says “don’t...your young. your like a daughter to me...i’ll go...” and she shakes her head no as she heads back in and says “it’s what my mom would have wanted me to do...”
Dalton says “me too...but we have to move now...the fire is getting big” and he coughs some more
that’s kinda sad.
Maya nods. “Let’s get out of here..”
However, the fire only began to enclose on them.
Remy nodded at myra, “are you okay?@
Ethan struggles to stand up but can’t put pressure on his foot, Ethan than calls Eliza, “Pick up Pick up..”
“Yup,” Myra quickly nodded and glanced around looking for an escape route. “Well there’s a window..”
hauling the extinguisher into the hallways, eliza’s phone goes off and she quickly fumbles to answer it, noticing that it was ethan. “hey- you’re out of the building right? please say you’re out of the building.” she muttered.
Dalton holds onto maya and walks with her.
carmina sat there. she ready to accept her fate of death
Maya leads the way out of the dorm building and looks around. Smoke was everywhere
remy looked over at he window and nodding, pulling himself up and walking over to the window. he held onto myra’s arm to make sure she was right behind him.
“Yeah, I jumped out a window,” Ethan says. “Are you out the building yet?”
Maya them looked up and saw Carmina. “D-Dalton there’s someone up there!”

eliza readjusted the phone and her grip on the extinguisher. “um.. not quite?”
finally someone noticed carmina was missing/on the top floor

Myra opened the window and took a deep breathe, “Two stories is kinda high...”
meanwhile mrs jett had clothing covering her face to help stop all that smoke and such and was heading to the top floor to get carmina
Noa mentally sighed. She thought about last school year, and Śôłàr, and soccer, and singing badly, and everything.
The flames were closing in on them. There was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. They didn’t know the school. They didn’t know where they were. Kamryn began to inhale the smoke, she began to cough violently. She’d been around fire a lot in her life, but never had she felt this. Never had she been so close to roaring flames. Never had she been engulfed in it. She mustered up the strength she still had and continued to search for a miracle.

Maya shakes her head. “I don’t know... maybe we should go get her..?”
Elan stares at Noa’s face. Oh, hey. This was Leo’s friend. Lit. She remembered her from last year.
“I called 9-1-1 they’ll be here in 10 minutes I can help you get out,” Ethan exhaled

Elan coughed and set Noa down on the grassy hill. “Hey,” She said, shaking her. // Noa could feel things vaguely, but everything was still running inside her head.

Kamryn mustered out, “Sorry is like putting a bandaid on shattered glass, but sometimes...” Kamryn gasped for more air. “It’s fine...”
eliza ignored him. “you know incase i die— you know just incase,” she coughs slightly. “thanks for hitting me with that brick so i could meet you.” shes making jokes during a time of crisis. that’s eliza.
she said, not continuing her first sentence.

while the fire trucks pulled in, śöłár quickly jumped out, only nineteen he had done a lot of training to get into the fire department and here he was back at his old school that was up in flames. quickly, him and his team ran inside, others stayed our side with hoses.
“You good?” Myra asked and tried to flex her right foot.
Deep down, Zac knew that what he did would be weighing on them until death since death was only a few minutes away give or take. Kamryn was right. Sorry was just like putting a bandaid on a bullet hole. The least he could do now was make sure they didn’t die.
Elan grinned at her brother. “Hey,” She said, messing up his hair. “Take care of her. I’m out.” She ran back into the building. // Leo was confused. He didn’t know how to take care of Noa.
Then there came a miracle.

Elan coughed. “Hello!,” she shouted into the hazy darkness, “Anyone?”
now the flames were slowly getting more intense in the area eliza stood, she held on tight or the extinguisher in her hand and slid to the floor, sitting there instead of running. still ignoring ethan she went on to say, “even though i did think you were this boy with his head in the clouds, always thinking people were good— i think i like you too.”
A random paramedic recovered Astrid’s body and brought her out with another paramedic in a white bag.
“Well dons forehead,” Kamryn said wearily, as she jumped out of the roof. The two maneuvered their way down.
However, the roof had a loose shingle.
remy glanced down at his ankle and tried moving it. “might be sprained but i had worse.” he looked over at her. “are you okay? nothing broken?” he seemed genuinely worried.
Elan heard voices. “Hello? Someone? I’m here to help!”
śôłár could here elan shouting for anybody to answer back and he started to. “if anyone is here can you please answer?” he yelled. “the fire department is here.”
Ethan was speechless for alittle, “The firefighters are here so stay safe,”

Leo tried to help the injured if he could find them.
“I think I might have a broken my wrist, but it’s nothing.” Myra says, “Can I see your ankle?”
śôłár was racing up the stairs, hearing footsteps from up above. // eliza laid her head back against the wall and hung up her phone
remy’s brow furrowed and he glanced at myra’s wrist before allowing her to see his ankle.
Ethan freaks out when Eliza hangs up the phone and frantically calls back and spams her with texts, saying “Eliza please, I care about you, stay safe I don’t know what I would do if you got hurt,”
Kamryn turned around and using her reflexes she caught onto his hoodie (it’s their hoodie of friendship :))) and now Zac was just hanging off of the roof of a flaming building...fun am I right or am I right :))
Elan frantically pushes her way through the building. “Anyone?”

śôłàr ran up to the roof and found kamryn who looked like she was holding onto something... or someone. he raced over to her and looked down to see her frantically holding onto a boy. he reached down and grabbed the boy’s arm. “help me pull him up.”
eliza could hear elan and every single text ethan was sending her. “i’m up here!” she shouted.
Noa coughed and spluttered but didn’t fully wake up. // Leo didn’t know what to do.
Elan ran towards the voice. “Okay. Keep taking if you can. I’m coming,” she said loudly.
Myra glances at his ankle, and gets up and helps Remy up “Let’s go over to the paramedics so they don’t count us dead,” kinda laughs at her sad attempt to make a joke
Kamryn helped pull Zac up, and gave him a hug cause yay for wholesome moments :))
eliza does what she asks and keeps talking “did you know that there’s about 358,500 fires every year?” // taking ahold of her good hand, he pulls himself up, limping over to the paramedics with her. “thank you for finding me...”
Ethan continued trying to call and texts, “Please be okay,” Ethan muttered.

śôłár smiles slightly as the two hugged and quickly averted his attention to the exit that was in flames. he grabbed a rope from his belt and tried it around the edge of the roof and onto his waist. “i can take one at a time— then i’ll quickly climb back up and grab the other.”
