Lydia walks in, showing confidence but also being real and not faky-fake and letting her slight nervousness show.

“Hey there,” Prince Damien said, adjusting his glasses and gesturing for her to sit beside him. “What’s your name?” he asked

“Lydia. Lady Lydia, I guess. But Lydia is just fine.” She says, as she sits next to him.

“Well, it’s nice to meet you Lydia,” he said, looking out towards the star

“You too.” Lydia says, smiling. she notices the sadness in his eyes. “Hey, um, pardon my asking but, are you okay?”

He sighed, “I mean as much as I’m excited for the selection, my father just couldn’t have chosen a worse time,” he sighed, “Since my brother passed a month ago, everything has just been so stressful and no one was really given any time to mourn,” he admitted. Usually he wouldn’t just pour out all of his emotions like that, but they’d been bottled up for too long

Mina looked at him, and her eyes full of empathy. “I’m so sorry for your loss. I... well, I don’t personally know how that feels but I can imagine how it felt to lose your brother..” she says, as she looks down.

“Thank you...and I’m sorry for your loss as well,” he added softly.

“I... it’s not exactly a loss for me. I was just born into the wrong family..” She says.

“Oh,” he said, eyebrows furrowed slightly. He didn’t want to press on, but he was a bit confused to what she was met.

“my family just didn’t show much care for me. my two older brothers were pretty mean to me. But that really isn’t as bad as losing a loved one.” She says and looks at him. “So, what do you like to do in your free time?” she asks, hoping to change the subject

“Oh I’m sorry...” he apologized, “Well...I’ve always loved playing the piano and singing as well and I like playing music with my friends,” he said.

“Ooh that’s really cool. What is your favorite genre of music?”

“I don’t really have a specific genre of music. It’s just anything I really hear and I like. My friend Kamryn got me into broadway music and I like rock like my friend Zac, but I also like songs from alternative and classical,” he said.

“Ooh I love Broadway music. And rock is really good too.” She says, smiling at him.

“What’s your favorite musical?” he asked curiously.

“Well, I like BeetleJuice, cause, ya know, main character has the same name as me, but I also really like Wicked and Dear Evan Hansen” She said, then asked, “what about you?”

“Beetlejuice is really good as well as Wicked.” Damien said in agreement. “Newsies was the first musical that Kamri got me into, so that one is always good,” he said

“I love Newsies.” she smiles. “Have you heard of Hadestown? it’s really good too.”
