I'd ask if they liked cats. If they said yes, I would let them go, if they said no, I'd keep them and teach them many facts about the superiority of cats. If they still didn't agree, I'd keep them for the rest of eternity.

I would just let them go. Then ask how did something like that ever happen. Whatever they say, I'll laugh. I'm such a boring person, lol.
