something i never rlly noticed about rap is the energy behind the words. like mod sun has such a positive energy, he talks about how happy he is and you can HEAR IT. like it’s not even that he sounds happy it’s that his vibes are so good. and nf, he’s rlly emotional and angry but also can be sweet and loving, and his voice sounds very similar but the energy of the songs shift and you can feel how he feels.

it’s so incredible to me, and it’s actually made me rlly emotional a few times. like i have a playlist of my favorite nf songs and sometimes they make me cry even tho they aren’t necessarily sad songs. it was a huge revelation for me bc i used to think rap was all like what’s super popular like about sëx and drúgs, and yeah sometimes it is, but what these guys are doing is so much different, and nf actually talks about that in some of his songs

anyways. yeah so i like rap and it’s something i don’t share with a lot of my friends bc i feel like they’d judge me, but tbh it’s such good music and if u want a weird kind of revelation listen to “happyBB” or “poundzzzzzz” by mod sun, and “grindin” or “remember this” by nf
