the kid did really well though. he's young, he has up to two more olympics ahead of him, I have full faith in him for the future. he's a very capable skater and although it was unfortunate that his short program was so bad, he did so well in the free skate that there's no doubt he probably would have won. I know he was aiming for gold, and because of his age that would have been Olympic history, but he still walked away with a world record and the knowledge that he is definitely capable of this. he's young, and he has so many more opportunities. but I will say one thing-- he didn't deserve even half of the negative feedback or backlash he got from press.
