I'm so sorry to hear that your first experience has been like this u-u and honestly, I can kind of see where you're coming from. although I might look like some Kpop vet, I've only been here for less than 3 months, and the beginning was really rocky. I felt very pressured to be into groups I didn't like, and especially BTS seemed to be unforgiving. BTS is great and all but most ARMY's are just straight up cancerous, just coming out right there... you've probably seen the bad side of fandoms first, like ARMY and ONCE and EXO-L (again, awesome groups but iffy fandoms) but I promise you from personal experience that if you want to like Kpop, you should search for and endeavor the groups and music YOU like without feeling pressured to like a group only because they're having a big comeback or your favorite editor does nonstop edits about them. and if it helps, I actually started with the underground, underrated stuff in Kpop that nobody on PC seems to know/care about. I can't say I know exactly what you're going through, but I can say I've been where you are now. actually, if you're looking for fanbases that are more chill, less fanwar-ish, or just more diverse in general, I recommend Kpop Amino๐ธ started there from the first day, and the people there are (for the most part) accepting and considerate of new fans and actually follow newer Kpop fans FIRST to catch them up! I couldn't tell you how happy I was when I asked so so many questions and people answered them and even sent me intro blogs! but enough of advertisement, what I'm saying is there are a ton of mainstream Kpop groups that have some unforgiving, nasty sides to the fandom. just please remember, Kpop is YOUR journey and your path, based on your interests ๐ you can go as in-depth or lowkey as you like, and not one person should have the right to tell you otherwise! if they do, your boi mochi will make sure it doesn't happen again >< so bottom line, I'm so sorry for your negative experience, but if you keep scouting around, steering away from the negativity and into the positivity, you might be surprised at what you'll find~ anyways, best of luck noona, I hope from the bottom of my heart that things shape up soon!
^very very long response to your rant whoops
when the "older" KPOP fans say that they mean when newer fans ( and some old tbh ) that say things like hearteu or oppa you know in the end they mean Koreaboos and new fans N O T A L L tend to act like koreaboos but honestly knowing all these groups is hard ASF it look a bit of time so just have fun with it pay attention to the ones you want to and have a fun time if someone tells you to listen to something ( and over react to the fact that you haven't heard them yet ) go check them out it's just people being annoying but other wise the KPOP fandom is pretty great and those mean people are just well idk but you know pay attention to the stuff you like and you'll have fun with it
me lol
I've been listen to KPOP for at least 2 or so years but have never expressed my love for it until this year or something so I can't say I've had much of a problem with this but I hope what I said helped somewhat
