🎤part 1🎤: this part was more on comparing men and women/boys and girls. I’m sure that many of you were told by your parents that oh blue is meant for boys and pink is meant for girls. well, that’s a stereotype and isn’t true. colours have no gender and we can all love whatever we want. I think this part is also meant for the guys in some way because I don’t want anyone to be put down by anyone like your parents or relatives etc that you can’t love and do what you want and you have to follow certain “rules” that don’t rlly exist honestly. and this part is also on women’s rights in everything, women should be given the same opportunity like men in everything, like in education and work opportunities. idk if most of you know but recently, the taliban government allowed the Afghanistan girls to go back to sch and have the same opportunity as the guys. but after 2 days, they “changed” their mind and decided not to give girls those education rights. which is wrong, ridiculously wrong. some women went to protest and guess what :) Afghanistan women now can only travel with a MALE RELATIVE. they can’t go out of the country by themselves LIKE WTH WHERE ARE OUR RIGHTS, WHY CANT THEY GO BY THEMSELVES. WOMEN CAN STAND UP FOR THEMSELVES. we don’t need a man to “protect” us. that’s for the first 3 stanzas of part 1. for the second last stanza, i think many ppl tend to say all those things to women so I thought it would be good to speak it out, that it’s wrong and not always true :) you’re the voice of yourself, speak up for yourself and love yourself always <33

🗝part 2🗝: you’re the key to everything. this is more of a POV through a young women, ever since she was growing up. she was controlled by her family members (parents, relatives) and did whatever she was told to, just to please them even tho she didn’t like it. but eventually, she learnt that she needed to stand up for herself, that she is the one that should decide for her own future, find the key to her own purpose. so the first 2 stanzas, it’s the “story” of her struggling deep inside, wanting to be free, to spread her wings like a butterfly, breaking free from a cocoon. it also shows that her struggling to be herself, under the controls of others. and then eventually, in the last 2 stanzas, she finally gains the courage to stand up for herself and be who she finally wants to be :) hope that this is understandable and hope you enjoyed the theme overall!! it was fun doing this honestly and I think it helped me to be more productive when it came to posting. please give me feedback on the theme and the poem itself, tysm if u do <3!! oh and if u don’t understand the background info, I’ll try my best to explain it to you better.

This actually reminds me of the time I was playing basketball WITH THE GUYS from the school I play sports at, and we were doing a scrimmage and I wrestled one of the bous, down and hard on the floor for the ball, stole it and scored a lay-up, and they whole boys team looked at me in astonishment and looked back at the boy I was playing basketball with, and they all started laughing at him saying, "hahaha! You just got beat by a GIRL😂." And I didn't say anything, but like, Girl

? GIRL?! SO WHAT? WHO CARES? I'm just as tough ad the rest of you! Heck, I'm taller and stronger then most of them! It made me very frustrated, like who CARES if im a girl, I can still be tougher and stronger and bigger and faster then you. Its not that easy to be taller, faster, bigger OR stronger then me.

these poems are beautiful, you’re an amazing writer and poet like I can feel the emotion and meaning behind each word. I relate to part one a LOT, I never fit in with my gender stereotype when I was younger and it was always hammered into me by my school and parents I could only like and do certain things because if it. I really háte how stereotypes are still around today, and some people are so strict on them. we’re all people with our own opinions and personality, not all girls are gonna like unicorns and not all boys are gonna like cars
