Different situations call for different qualities, and both of these combinations are vital in a society. It's important to consider the dark side of the coins (a very confident person might rely to much on intuition, a very thoughtful person might become quite anxious). The former would usually be more charismatic, a good speaker. The latter would be more wise, a brilliant advisor. The two, with a shared goal of common good, would make an outstanding team.
