but I Taylor dissing her exes is where you’re wrong. a) her songs are about her personal feelings, not just dissing them. she sings about the good times and memories as well. she disses her exes who DIDN’T treat her well. you can’t fault her for that because she’s also bringing out a message: don’t settle for anyone less than you deserve. b) a lot of her songs about her exes are about finding herself, for example Out Of The Woods: She lost him, but she found herself. And somehow that was everything. Or another example: All Too Well. “I’d like to be my old self again but I’m trying to find it.” The point is that Ariana Grande just puts a lesson that’s seriously obvious in her lyrics, while Taylor is more subtle and has a deeper meaning to her songs. it’s my opinion🤷‍♀️ probably bc I’m just biased because I like Taylor and I don’t like Ariana Grande lol

and tbh I think that Taylor’s songs have more emotion...Ariana does as well but it isn’t really brought out if you’re not hearing live

kinda disagree love them both and Taylor doesn’t only diss her exes sometimes but not always you obviously don’t really know any of her older songs

okay so I’ve thought about it and I was going to start ranting but I won’t do that. 😂 here’s my opinion though (I hope you understand that this isn’t hating on you, for this is my opinion. ♥️) okay so 1st, Taylor doesn’t ALWAYS sing about her exes. (plus, if she can make a really good song out of talking about her exes, why not then?) but she has made songs such as: Welcome To New York, You Are In Love, A Place In This World, Fifteen, The Best Day, Innocent, 22, The Lucky One, Starlight, Shake It Off, I Did Something Bad, Look What You Made Me Do, This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things, and so on. I also think that she doesn’t necessarily “diss” her exes in every single beautiful song she makes. for example, in Back To December, Taylor apologizes to her ex for how she treated him through their relationship. another thing is like @sakuracat said is she dissed the exes that treated her BADLY. I believe Taylor’s songs have deeper meanings. for example, the secret message of her song Clean (one of my favorites!) is “She lost him, but she found herself, and somehow that was everything.” (again, my favorite quote!) she is telling how she eventually found herself through a hard relationship. another one (like @sakuracat said) in her song All Too Well, she says “I’d like to be my old self again, but I’m still trying to find it.” which she is alluding to the fact that her ex treated her badly and she wants to find the person she was before she met her ex. (again, All Too Well is a lyrical masterpiece; you should check it out!) now for Ariana, I haven’t listened to many songs of hers, but what I’ve listened to isn’t as good as Taylor’s songs are. Ariana doesn’t have that deeper message/moral/emotion in a song that Taylor does. now some Ariana fans are gonna he triggered and say “but what about Just a Little Bit of Your Heart? that’s an emotional song!” which I agree, it’s my favorite of hers, but Harry Styles wrote that one for Ariana. now Ariana’s performances are amazing and well over the top, but so are Taylor’s. you can see pure emotion on both of their faces as they both perform. Taylor also sings about good times with her exes- even if they did have a nasty breakup. so when it comes down to it, Taylor and Ariana should be treated the same, no matter what type of song they make. thanks for coming to my ted talk see ya 😂😝♥️

I feel like Ari was pay homage to a few of her exes in “thank u, next” because (I think) she says that she wanted to say something to Mac Miller, but now he’s angel.

I think people really like thank you next because of everything Ariana had to go through because of her exes—one died and she almost got married to one of them (and he ended up making fun of their relationship afterwards) and I feel like maybe Taylor hasn’t had the same trauma when it came to her exes.

but also I don’t know because I never really looked into it that much—like I don’t know if Taylor had trauma or not

oooooooof bro wow you have a lot of opinions coming through but tbh I really liked Taylor when she sang mostly county and before she got into pop and Ariana is pretty amazing too so I’m neutral on both (sry I kinda just threw that in there)

I like both their music for the most part, and I KINDA see why your ranting about this, but just to say one more (you probably don’t need to hear it because of all the other people that have just said this) personally I don’t think Taylor writs to much about her extras.
