Thank you so much and thanks again for agreeing to do this. I will be treating this like an interview so I'll start with asking you the same qestion
I ask everyone and then we'll go from there
Welcome Delartista to Tropic Talk Show Tuesday!! We'll start in the beginning when did you join PC and why did you?
I don’t even know, its been so long! I started this account, @delartista, about three years ago, but I had multiple accounts before for I don’t know how long.
I think when I first started using pc, I didn’t even know about the accounts and all that😂 I just used it to put pictures together. But then I figured it out and was like, why not. Eventually I made the account I have now because I wanted a serious account to make and share art, and to start fresh.
It seems like a lot of users started out not knowing that you could make an account:) Now I've been looking through your account and all I can say is wow...Your account is literally amazing. There are a lot users out there that are still trying to figure out their style, It seems like you already have a style what helped you gain it.
Aw thank you so much! Well, if you scroll down way back, youll see that i didnt really know what i was doing and i didn’t really have a style. I was just trying different things and having fun with it. But of course I wanted to have a style and to make something unique. Everyone wants to be different and to stand out and be unique. Finding your style is hard and takes a lot of patience. I started using the doodle tool because i was like,”okay, Im pretty good at drawing and i love to draw, so lets do something with that.” And obviously I liked that idea because i stuck with it😂 I experimented with colors and found my love of the color black😂 Ive been developing this style for so long and Im so glad that i have been because now i have this way of making art that is my own.
So you took something you enjoy doing(drawing) and took it to the next level of making amazing collages with it that's amazing. How do you get inspiration for all your collages that each of them turn out unique from all the others?
Aw thank you! Well, I get inspiration from a lot of places. A lot of it is from the pc community. There are so many incredible artists on here and they’re all so inspiring. So i pick up themes or little things that i like and i combine them with others, or my own ideas. Pinterest is very helpful because there are so many pictures and quotes that give me ideas. I probably get most of my ideas from scrolling through my pins and piecing them together in my head. I also get inspo from songs or my own life. Like if i’m feeling a certain way and i want to express it with a collage. Or like my last series was inspired by events in my own life.
That's awesome are there any users on PC that have helped you whether in giving you ideas, encouraging you, or they supported you in some way?
oh my, yeah there are so many people. every comment means the world to me and that’s where i get the confidence to keep making and sharing art. but there are some people that have stuck with me and supported me for a long time now and i am so grateful for each and every one of them. everyone on pc is so inspiring, helpful and supportive, i wouldn’t be able to list them all
That's awesome thanks for sharing that. Your a an account that a lot of people look up to and inspire to be. Would you have any advice for new users or ones that have been here for awhile?
thank you so much!!! I think my advice would be to do what you want, not what you think others want. Like, want to change your style after using it for so long? Do it! Don’t want to have a style? Don’t! Wanna post 12 times a day? Go ahead! Only wanna post once a month? Awesome! Do what makes you happy and what you enjoy. Have fun, experiment, be kind and make friends.
Also, don’t compare your art and your account to others’. Different people have different experiences and grow at different rates. All art is good art, please know that. Different people like different things. Some people can develop a style faster than others. Some have been taking art classes for years, some have 0 artistic experience. Everyone is different and that is ok so don’t compare yourself to them.
Wow that is amazing I love what you said that everyone is different and that it's ok and that we shouldn't compare yourself to them.If everyone persons account was the same I don't think PC would be very interesting it's your own idea and the creativity you put into it that makes your own and that users love seeing
This is brings our interview to an end. I have learned so much about you and your advice as new user is really going to help and I hope as everyone reads this they will see a little side of your journey on pic collage and maybe learn a little bit about you. Do you have any last things you would like to say?
Yes yes, exactly!! you worded that beautifully
Thank you so much for this interview!! I’m so glad you asked me to do this. I guess i just want to say how grateful i am for the pc community. It’s full of beautiful and supportive people and has not really my helped me through a lot, but gives me the opportunity to help others or inspire others and that is all i want to do. Thank you again, talking to you was wonderful!!💕
***and has not only helped me through a lot
ooops sorry😅
No problem thank you so much for agreeing to do this. I will let you know when our interview is posted on my talk show account:)
