Well, I don't really use the shadings much for like the hair and stuff but when I do, it makes it stand out. with the hair, if you wanna give it a try; you just make like a funnel shape across the hair, start off a bit bit until growing thin. If you don't know what I mean, just look at my chibi drawing of Takumi in my profile~
I think it looks good as it is!
If you want skin shading; well that's a lot harder to do cause on an anime person, shading for the skin should be drawn that's on a certain angle on the face. Skin shading is looks bad if you put it in the wrong spot. You really need to look at the drawing to figure out where it should go~
You need to pin point where the angle of light is coming from to ensure that the shading looks right~
Sorry, I'm just practicing myself but I've had enough experience with my anime drawings to know that if you mess that one detail up, the drawing looks bad.
