and @ caption: definitely agree with you about the credit thing. i think before you joined, around early may last year or even earlier then me and @euph0ria- caite we posted smtg on our extras and joint acc about crediting others. i mentioned it a couple of times on my acc before and I think crediting is rlly impt it’s like stealing someone’s work if u don’t even give credit for the edit. makes me mad and I’ll start to rant a lot…but anyways thanks for talking about this again. don’t rlly draw to speak about this anymore because of the h@te and not much of awareness…like ppl know but they don’t rlly take action so this causes more and more ppl to not give credit.

honestly, i’m far from the best person to ask that question haha. i deal with a lot of stressors in my everyday life, and i am the first to admit that i don’t always handle it in a healthy way. however, i don’t know how old you are, but keeping communications with your teachers is a huge thing. i mention your age because creating a personal bond between you and your teacher is admittedly a lot easier when you’re older. i think this piece of advice can be applied to all aspects of your life, but you have to understand that everyone is a person. everyone deals with stressors and have stringent deadlines. if you’re able to create a personal bond with a teacher (or anyone in an authoritative position), they’ll be more empathetic to you and cater more towards your needs generally. personal relations are so so important. just a simple hello or asking about their weekend or trying to have a simple conversation with them makes all the difference. also, never be afraid to ask for help or an extension. if you’re honest and genuine, most reasonable teachers will allow you an extension. i’m not sure how relevant this is, but understanding people and creating meaningful relations has most definitely alleviated some stress.

What do you mean?

this is probably going to be another long one haha, but…when making a more graphic or traditional collage, composition is one of the key factors you have to worry about. when you do a primarily text based collage, your text is the main focal point of the collage. however, when making a more “collagey” collage, you have to determine your subject/focal point/ where you want your audience to look. if you don’t have a focal point, it will appear clutter and the viewer won’t know where to look. to be honest, i don’t know how to explain placing your subject, but for example, in my latest collage, the subject is the girl in the center. another thing to keep in mind is shapes. for a more traditional based collage you can’t only use squares. don’t be afraid to cut things out.

Also do you mind if I make some wanderlust collages as well, I just wanted to ask for your permission first and if so I will give credit for the theme!😊

layering is also a major factor of composition! layering is a technique to get that traditional collage feel. once again, you’re going to want to layer different shapes, not just squares. i personally like to keep it simple with text, just so it doesn’t detract from the collage— another composition component. I would also say to keep a genera color scheme, but i feel that’s a given. if you have anymore questions, don’t hesitate to ask!!
