so morning, afternoon and night are all like gods in this weird universe and obviously night is seen as the bad guy bringing nightmares and total darkness when the time came. he didn't like that he was the bad guy and fought with morning about it (afternoon is chill they don't honestly care) so they fight and night is about to win when morning takes his humanity to try and stop night from winning. so basically, morning makes him a mindless beast and morning hopes that now that nights a blank slate that they can make him a good guy and teach him how to behave and stuff
