the POINT, Kat, is this: those days when you’re feeling bad and someone you haven’t talked to in ages just says hi. just hi. in the hallways on the way to another class. no real conversation, but your day is so much better already now they’ve done that. it’s staying after school to rehearse, or hang out or WHATEVER, and being racked with hysterical laughter because HE said something funny. and HE is so funny. it’s when you’re all at Wendy’s and you can’t finish the burger so he does in three seconds flat, leaving you in awe. it’s the warm feeling of early autumn grass under your toes. still warm, still soft. it’s the good books that you’ve read, and every time you get a chance to bring them up, you eyes light up. you don’t see the glow and the joy that radiates when you’re happy, but everyone else sees it. and most of all, the point, Kat, is those days when you’re alone, and you’re giving up hope, and you have to HOLD ON. because first off, since the moment you met your first person “coherently”, you’ve never been alone. and secondly, life is a struggle. that’s the point. the struggle to survive, to get that test retaken, to not sleep in. the point of life, Kat, is being. just being. 💕
