This is very true. I don't see why people sometimes base line that science is permanently fact, and that everything in the text book is true. You believe in the Big Bang. You believe in evolution. It takes faith. Even if you are atheist, you do believe in things. Like believing there isn't a god. No one is trying to say that atheism is religion, but you have to have faith and belief in things. And why is science always separated from religion also?¿ like mkay peeps
but there's a lot of evidence supporting beliefs of scientist and atheists people in science know they don't have all the answers and that's what they are trying to find and working towards just because we don't understand something yet doesn't mean it has to be credited to a god
science doesn't all have to separated from religion but in some big ways it is like evolution and the Big Bang and that stuff
the Big Bang Theory originated from a Catholic priest.
Yes... there's also evidence supporting that there's a god... there's just as much evidence on either side, you just have to choose for yourself what to believe. After AP biology, it's hard for me to fathom there not being a god. Going down to the extraordinary functions of the human DNA and RNA and then going as far out to the other billions of galaxies that will never be explored, it makes a person wonder how it could all be a coincidence. But that's just me. I don't think I was saying everything was credited to a god before... I was saying it takes belief to believe in things that have a lot of evidence but aren't definitely proven. But yes evolution is separated, and who's to say the Big Bang wasn't caused by a god? Geez there is evidence on both sides, but many believe to look at it from a different POV. and that's quite fine. But you do have to believe in some things, many scientifically theories aren't facts (notice "theories")
Lol it's not like those of faith have the answers either. That's what we're searching for as well. We're looking for evidence on our side while others look for evidence on their's and try to figure out what the world they've been born into is telling them. Why is everything an argument like... what I said makes perfect sense... I'm saying you believe in something... wow
"but there's a lot of evidence supporting our claims..." says every person ever. It's still having believing in something that isn't totally and actually proven.
I feel that I say too much. but yet I have so much to say. therefore. I am sorry for spamming your account 💛
Oh and last thing- one time in class, my very intellectual teacher Bandy started talking about how atheism was a belief, and my atheist friend (who's a raging, fiery one, not at all really a nice person) got all defensive and said "Um, actually, Atheism isn't a belief. We don't believe in a god." and Bandy said "No, you believe there is no God." And I'm like pRAISE SOMEONE SAID IT and she just kept huffing and I'm explaining like no
well the Big Bang goes against God depending on your beliefs link if you believe the world to be 6000 years old then the Big Bang does not fit your beliefs
I never said its not a belief?
and evidence is different then answers the bible does gives answers it may not give evidence but it has answers
I never said we don't believe there to be no god I know we don't know there isn't a god but we still do have lots of evidence for what I believe in being evolution and the Big Bang and there being no god
and to the notice the "theory" there's a difference between scientific theories and other theories
saying I think ducks created the world is a theory but to be a scientific theory it needs evidence
A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is traditionally [note 1] acquired through the scientific method and repeatedly tested and confirmed through observation and experimentation.
a definition ^
faith isn't any evidence as a kid I had faith in the tooth fairy but Is that real?
that's answers to different people so yeah
like not link*
It's such pointless arguing though.... I really don't wanna bother
But I didn't say faith was evidence, honey. That is all.
Oh, wait, and many atheists do say that. At least the raging ones.
someone said that I said there are different responses to different people
Okay. I just don't see what point there is to argue on this one. All I'm saying is that there's proof for everything, if you look hard enough, or if you research enough, or anything. Faith isn't conclusive, but historical and scientific evidence is. There is proof of a lot of things in science, and we are taught it because it is worldly and informative, but then a person must take the next step in determining whether they believe these theories or other things.
yeah I agree debating isn't going to get you anywhere I just enjoy it when it comes to religion because I get to express my opinion which I can't do at home because my family is religious
Sorry. I know I'm a sassy and annoying bish. But I'm a bish with wifi (#FelicitySmoake), and because of this I feel the need to express.
and at some point you have enough evidence to say something is right or wrong like we know who's the president we have evidence and it's true so at some point we could have find the answer we just aren't at that point yet
I'm annoying and rude sometimes too I don't mean to be I just like debating and I can be very sarcastic which people think is me being rude but I don't mean it that way
That's cool, and I'm glad you can express it on here. I just misread things on screen and can't tell if someone is angry with me or not, or if they just want to casually talk or what. But, it is very nice to express oneself even if they know that historians and theologians and philosophers and scientists can't come to a conclusion of which they decisively agree on, so whatever is said wouldn't be revolutionary or proof.
yeah I find debated fun I know they aren't going to prove anything but it's fun to see others people's views and ideas and then be able to express your own definitely when you can't irl
Yes I agree, it does come to that point, and maybe it will one day soon be reached or maybe in a couple hundred years, but I shall stick to my guns until something in this world could absolutely positively prove me wrong, if you get me. I'm raised in a Christian home, and although I have doubts often and ponder upon things and whether or not my beliefs are just totes migotes crazy ( which, if you think about it, all beliefs are crazy, so we should try to accept each other, even if we do get mad sometimes and say rude things) but I will still revert back to what I feel is right in my heart. So I'm guessing your family doesn't know you don't believe?
yeah I live in a Christian family and i just kinda went along with everything like what you do when you're a kid but then one day I actually looked into the bible and then into science and I realized I didn't believe in God or any religion and found science more correct in my beliefs
one thing I like about science is that if you found something as simple as a rock in the wrong layer they would congratulate you and then change their theories and not all but some religious people can be closed minded about that like some people believe the world to be 6000 years old even tho we have proof it's not
That's awful, I wish you could be able to express yourself. Like, if my eventual child were to stop believing the same things I believe ( if they even did in the first place ), I would be very sad that we don't see the world in the same way, but I wouldn't want them to feel like they can't think differently or independently and decide for themselves what life and the universe is. Just remember Brendon Urie went through the same struggles 😂😁 That doesn't help but his struggles inspired many good songs, like I Constantly Thank God For Esteban ( might've been Ryan's struggle, idk) or Oh Glory. Sorry. Tangent. But do you think you'll ever be able to tell them, or are they too religious and wouldn't accept the fact that you didn't see things the same?
And sorry. I ask a lot of questions because I'm a curious person
😂 true...I'm not sure I think my dad would be ok because he doesn't really do that much with religion but his sister is pretty religious and my grandma is too so idk how they would react and then my mom wouldn't like it she constantly tells me I should be more religious and act like a Christian which I hate because anyone can be nice kind or caring it's not just a religious thing?
and many of my friends are religious because I know some through church and other religious stuff so I'm not sure how they would responded
I'll probably wait until I'm older I'm collage and stuff so they can't really force me to do anything because they think it would change my thoughts
in college*
@Black_Veil_Bands Well, I certainly hope that they'll come to accept you at a sooner time. 💛 You seem very lovely and smart, and I'm glad that you are able to express yourself here (sorry I haven't replied, been busy)
