My great-aunt was deaf and was unable to speak or use sign-language for her whole life. My grandmother (her sister) refused to put her in a care home. She cared for her all her life and I was very young, and I didnt really like her staying with my grandmother. Then my mother gave me news, she had had a heartattack but she was stable now. One day, my little cousin came over for a sleepover. Out of the blue, in the middle of the sleepover, she just blurted out, "Oh its a shame shes dead now"..... She'd had another heart-attack and passed away. I really regret not appreciating her presence.
