So, many turtles are getting deformations (like the one pictured in the background photo) from these plastic rings. They get swim into them and get stuck in them. The turtles then grow their shells around them and that is how their shells get deformed. You can do your part by making sure your waste goes to an appropriate disposal ground. You can also make sure to cut open any plastic rings you may have, even if they are indeed going to an appropriate waste disposal ground.
