I broke my fingers yesterday and so today at lunch all my friends were coming up with funny stories on how I did it (skiing accident btw). My one friend who's a grade lower then me made the story about self harm. I'm not going to repeat the story because I'm trying to prevent triggering anyone as much as possible. As soon as he said his version of the story my stomach sank and my eyes teared up. My eyes immediately went to the scars on my wrist. I turned and looked at him, "First off, fûcking stop with the self harm jokes, they aren't appropriate. You have no idea what anyone has/is going through. Second, look at my wrist, tell me this joke is still funny as I'm sitting here trying not to cry." I didn't talk to him the rest of the day. Never make a joke about self harm. Don't you dare ever say "triggered" if you're not actually triggered. It pîsses me off. I can honestly say I am triggered. That joke made me think about a year ago and I'm not okay at the moment. Think if your joke is appropriate before speaking. Thank you, this has been a PSA.

i fùcking hate this shìt when it happens and my god, if people don't stop with the 'triggered' jokes, i will find something to wipe out the entire goddâmn human race (or at least the shìts who make triggered jokes)

i'm so sorry this happened to you, hopefully some little shìts will get more educated (probably not from me bc i'm really shy and cannot speak up for myself)

OKAY AND when people say kill yourself it's quite similar, they don't know that maybe that person has tried/ wants to, and telling them to DOESN'T HELP ANYONE I don't see how ANYONE could find suicide funny, it's overwhelmingly inappropriate and wrong. I mean what are they gonna say if they actually do kill themselves ?! say "it was just a joke" no! there are absolutely no excuses for saying that because it. isn't. funny.

I'm so sorry Mikki. I can't stand when people make "jokes" like that, because they aren't jokes at all. I hope you feel better, and I hope your friend realizes what a bad friend he has been and apologizes. Ily, and I'm here for you. 💕
