it isn't free. the government takes my families hard earned money and gives it to people sitting on their ässës all day. that isn't free, that's stealing.

Ever heard of poverty and minimum wage jobs

look, it's bad luck. there just aren't enough jobs for everyone to have one that pays well, or even enough to live on. isn't it better to give a little so others can live just a little better?

look, it's a cycle. a bad one. you grow up poor, your parents can't afford a good school/and or college, you work a minimum wage job so you can barely scrape by, you don't have the time or money required for college, you aren't educated enough for a better job, you have kids. now you have to pay for food, clothes, school.... Repeat.

^^^a lot of people don't even work because they know that the government will fund them. it's called welfare. just this morning on my way back from Mass there was a tent giving out free cell phones. and down the street there were probably about 200 homeless people living in tents underneath bridges. how is it fair to you that homeless people get free cell phones and people who work hard and actually have a life don't??

Just so you know, those cell phones pay for themselves many times over by helping needy Americans (1) get in touch with prospective employers and become less dependent on government aid programs, (2) stay in contact with medical professionals, reducing government medical costs, (3) remain closely connected with children and parents, and (4) have the ability to make emergency phone calls. Also, Welfare is just temporary assistance to help families get back on their feet again. I'm not denying that NO ONE abuses the system, but VERY little do. Besides, everybody is going to have to pay taxes for something they don't like. You don't like helping people through welfare? Well I don't like giving money to fund wars. And guess which one the US spends more on.
