omg there’s this girl in my class, and she was just so annoying today. 😑 we were correcting the conclusion to our essays and I was correcting hers—in our essay we have to have three criteria (reasons) for our claim/thesis, and in our conclusion, we have to restate our claim in our 1st sentence. the 2nd sentence is like the summary of our body paragraphs. SOOO as I was correcting her paper, her 1st sentence was a run-on sentence (and 😤 yOu ARe nOt suPpOsed tO hAve thEm). her 1st sentence was not just her claim, but she also added excess information that could be used for the summary, or 2nd part of the conclusion. so I made it so her claim was the 1st sentence, the access info was a part of the summary. once I gave back her paper, she said to me, “ Why did you say it’s a run-on sentence??” and I replied, “because it is, so I separated your 3 criteria and the info. you should make the last half of the sentence a part of your summary of the conclusion.” THEN SHE SAID 😤 “well Mrs. Ferguson (my teacher) told me to do a run-on sentence, and that’s a part of my claim” uHM YOUR CLAIM IS ONLY THE THREE CRITERIA GIRL
and I said back, “but run-on sentences are improper, and make your paper look bad. I’m trying to help you so you can make your paper look better and more professional.”
“why should I change it?!” she said
“well, because I’m helping you. and if you don’t want to take my advice and my KNOWLEDGE, you can just get a bad grade.”

btw as she was talking (the whole time) she was like almost about to cry 😑
and i guess my teacher saw what happened and she went to the girl and asked for her (Abby’s) paper. FRICKIN ABBY RESPONDED, “NO. No. No.” and my teacher said, “well okay fine, but you don’t talk to your teacher like that.”
