The Constellation Chronicles Glowing in the dark Book 4 Chapter 1 Rain was pouring down like a constantly creeping shadow outside of my window. The lightning flashed and shivered when the thunder rumbled across the sky. The lightning lit up all my photos lining my room in the secret hide out that Jack made for us. The photos of me younger, the photos of me and Raven, the photos of me and my dead dad and the family. A broken mirror littered the floor the glass turning blue like the rain as the lights from my fairy lit bed flickered on and off. I held a shard of glass in my hand and my tears fell onto it. In the glass I saw my reflection. My white blonde and blue hair, my bright big blue eyes, and my paler than usual skin. My eyes held buckets of tears and I tried to wipe them away but they kept on coming and coming. My breath turned ragged and I flopped on my bed, covering my eyes and trying to stay strong. There was a knock at the door. "Come in!" I groaned as I rolled over and swept the glass under my bed. My best friend Elena opened the door, ran in and hugged me as tight as a bear. Even though Elena is 2 years older than me she is still my best friend. She has caramel brown hair with blonde highlights, tan skin, chocolate brown eyes, and a light Latino accent. She was always so happy, the opposite of me. I liked facts and ONLY facts, she thrived in the light and opinions. She is a free spirit, I like that. I hugged back and she wiped my remaining tears and sat down on my bed. "LISTEN Cassidy I know it's hard learning that Raven is evil, then finding out he's been possessed and then you killing him but you have to move on, and if you can't move on we will find a way to get him back. I can't stand seeing my bestie in a super depressing state like this. And even though Raven might have been a jerk, you still deserve someone as good as him, okay?" Elena lectured as I nodded. She never gives speeches like that. I actually understood this one. She grabbed my hand and we ran towards the "headquarters" of out hideout. Now our hide out is top secret so don't tell anyone about it. It's underground, under crystal light resort in Volta. It's three strories high made out of steel, silver, black and blue crystals, and marble. It's super sleek and super high tech. Head quarters is in the heart of the building on the first floor. It has blinking blue holographs, black computers, scanners, weapons, power chambers, etc. Anything that a good spy/super hero/techie would need. Elena tapped the password in the little slot and the silver door opened. The rest of the team was assembled at various stations and objects. Evan, Elenas boyfriend, was testing out a new kind of holographic gun, called the holo-serve. Evan had dark brown hair with flames dancing in it, Goldish reddish eyes that seriously freak me out, and darkish skin. He is power of fire, I'm lightning, and Elena is sunshine. Jasmine was typing on the computer and currently coding to make a plant grow. Jasmine Has rose gold hair with dark ground at the roots, lime green eyes that sparkle like lights, peach skin, and always had a small smile on her face. She is power of nature and the earth. And last but not least is the tech wizard himself Jackson. Jack has white blonde hair like mine but his looked silver, light blue/grayish eyes, super pale skin, and a cold calm expression like an ice sculpture. As you can tell he is Winter and ice. Jack was calmly i porting files into the computer for possible traitors. I cleared my throats and they looked up at us. "How are you feeling Cassie?" Evan asked as I shrugged in answer. Jack stood up and walked to the artificial window giving off a view of Volta. I'm homesick of that place. I miss the neon lights, the loud music, the constellations, the parties on the street, and most of all my house. My beautiful home sweet home worthy house. I blinked and looked away from the window and focused on jacks words. "......he need to go research on how to bring someone back from the dead" he was saying as I tuned in. "The library should do it, we do have a library expert." He winked at me and i smiled. I ran to the library on the second floor and stopped at the Steel gate doors. I used all my strength to push them open and I slipped inside. The library always tend to amaze me. It was green brown and blue with wooden accents and a sort of earthy feel to it. The blue carpet was as soft as velvet and the holo-books and the earthling books were stacked up higher than the Golden Angel Bridge in Golden Gate. Light blue screens showed nature scenes and I actually hear waterfalls and chipmunks. In the middle of the room is the Wisdom tree. My favorite place in the world. It's as tall as the library and it's a big crystal willow tree. It's blue and green and inside each of the leaves is a new story idea begging to be written. The tree whispers good things, nature things, wisdom things and the tree plays music like a harp, piano, and flute. I sighed and twirled around taking in a,k the wisdom the library offers me. I opened up my eyes and went around the library collections books that I think would help bring Raven alive. My friends swiftly came into the library and did the same as me, looking for books. I gathered 15 books and settled at a holo-table and started reading. I'm a really fast reader plus I can absorb everything that I am reading, even though I skim articles and books. "Guys.....I found something! This might help!" Jasmine yelled and I flipped around and ran towards her. So did everyone else. "Well it's called death bridge.......Jack know the story of it.....it only says briefly in the passage....Jack...." Jasmine trailed off as she noticed Jacks expressions. "It might just work......." jack muttered as he sat down in a chair and folded his arms.
