my friends and i were talking about how ridiculously expensive feminine hygiene products are, like my one friend said in this snap the government covers viagra (which is a śêx related pill for those who don’t know) but doesn’t cover products that women & others NEED EVERY MONTH, viagra isn’t necessary but those products (like pads, tampons, etc) are
and i remembered that at the leadership camp i did last summer, one girl was talking about a project she wanted to do where she donated feminine hygiene products to homeless shelters. because that ish is way too expensive, and it’s very wasteful and bad for the environment. so she was thinking about donating menstrual cups (which if you get a period i FOUR THOUSAND PERCENT RECOMMEND) but the only this is they’re $40 each
the only thing**
another idea she had was putting boxes in bathrooms so people can donate extra pads or tampons, which i really want to do at my school bc it’s something i feel very passionately about
so yeah, i might be doing that very soon and if anyone is interested i’ll keep updating how things are going!!
