Jackson had been out for a while now, getting something important. Chloe was with Lisa, playing with all the pets.
Alex had locked himself in his room and hadn’t moved all day. Eliza was watching Chloe and Lisa, but was too upset to do anything.
Jackson came back, holding a ton of coffees. “Alex?” He knocked on the door. || Chloe turned around and held up her pet crab to Eliza. “Look at my son! Pride is not the word I’m looking for...” She laughed.
“Come in...” Alex said quietly, which was unlike him. || Eliza faked a smile and sighed. “That’s nice Chloe.”
Jackson walked in and held out a cup to Alex. “I got you coffee.”|| “Eliza?” Chloe tilted her head.
“Thanks Jackson.” Alex looked down and didn’t take the coffee from Jackson. || “Yeah?” Eliza asked

“Alex, what’s wrong?” Jackson sat next to Alex. || “You look sad.” Chloe frowned.

“Everything.” Alex said. || “I’m fine.” Eliza said. She was lying, but it sounded pretty convincing

“Can’t blame you...” Jackson mumbled. || “You sure?” Chloe asked.
“Oh hey Rosie.” Lisa waved.
“I think I’ve finally snapped.” Alex said. “I think I’ve gone completely insane.” || “I’m sure.” Eliza smiled. She wasn’t fine though.

“Alex, if you were completely insane, you would be in a mental asylum by now.” Jackson said. || “That’s nice.” Chloe hugged Eliza. || “Can I show you something?” Lisa asked.
“They’ve tried to put me there before.” Alex said. “After I killed John.” || “Thanks Chloe....” Eliza said
Jackson paused. “Who?” || “You’re welcome.” Chloe smiled.
“Huh?” Alex looked at Jackson with a blank stare. || “I...I’m sorry. I have to go.” Eliza kissed Chloe’s cheek before turning and running up to her dorm.
“Y- You killed who?” Jackson asked. || “Bye!” Chloe waved a little.
“John Laurens. They said I killed John Laurens.” Alex said. || “Goodbye Chloe...” Eliza stopped for a moment and waved back. “I’ll miss you.”
“Y- Why?!” Jackson had a look of pure terror on his face. || “What Do you mean?” Chloe asked slowly.
“I don’t know why. I don’t even remember doing it.” Alex said. “But they said I killed him and at this point I think their judgement is better than mine.” || Eliza ignored Chloe and continued on her way.
“Well— Maybe you didn’t do it. Maybe they were just accusing you.” Jackson was trying to convince himself that Alex didn’t really kill John. || “Eliza...?” Chloe slowly followed behind Eliza.
“But I was the only one there. It must have been me.” Alex said. Poor Alex. It wasn’t really him. || “Go away Chloe.” Eliza said, walking faster
“You’re trying to tell yourself you did something you didn’t really do, Alex. That’s not good.” Jackson frowned. || “What’re you doing?” Chloe caught up with Eliza.

“But how would you know that Jackson? We’re you there?” Alex asked. || “Nothing that concerns you.” Eliza said

“How do you know? You keep thinking you did it, which isn’t the same as doing it.” Jackson said. || “Well it does concern me.” Chloe said
“I-I guess your right.” Alex admitted. “I’m just so confused.” || “How So?” Eliza asked
“I have some news that might cheer you up.” Jackson smiled a little. || “Because you’re not acting like your normal self. You’re... trying to push me away.” Chloe looked down, sad.
“Really?” Alex asked. || “Oh Chloe.” Eliza sighed. “This is my normal self. I’m just very good at pretending.”
Jackson nodded. “It’s pride month.” || “I’m such an idiot... how did I not realize...?” Chloe’s voice was very quiet.
“It is...?” Alex asked. || Eliza smiled sadly. “It isn’t your fault Chloe. I just don’t want to burden you with my problems.”
“Yup.” Jackson said. || “Eliza...?” Chloe looked up.
“Well dâmn. I forgot.” Alex said. || “What is it?” Eliza asked
“Aw, it’s fine.” Jackson laughed and kissed Alex’s cheek. || “Where were you gonna go?” Chloe asked.
“Hey...I’m sorry. I don’t know what happened earlier.” Alex said. “I just get like that sometimes.” || “I already told you it doesn’t concern you.” Eliza said
“We all do... I think.” Jackson said. || “Please, Eliza?” Chloe begged.
“Nah. That’s just what happens when I snap.” Alex said. “Most people don’t get that crazy.” || “No. I can’t tell you.” Eliza said
“Alex?” Jackson said. || “Was it something bad?” Chloe asked
“Yeah?” Alex said looking up at Jackson. || Eliza nodded. “Very bad.”
“I got you a coffee but it’s cold now.” Jackson laughed. || “You aren’t gonna do it now, are you?” Chloe asked.
“Dâmn. I was looking forward to that coffee.” Alex laughed. || Eliza stayed silent and looked down
“Tomorrow I’ll get you another one, but you gotta drink it before it goes cold, Okay?” Jackson asked. || “Are you?” Chloe asked again.
“Yeah, I will.” Alex nodded. “Thanks kid.” || “I’m not going to.” Eliza said. “I have other plans.”
