Chloe had fallen asleep next to Eliza’s bed. Aw, Chloe is so adorable. || Jackson was trying to steal all of the blankets from Alex. You go, Jackson.
Eliza was...not in the room with Chloe. She was in her closet. || Alex was wandering around his apartment, still trying to find coffee. (Hm...I think Alex might like coffee more than he likes Jackson😂)
Chloe began to do what she normally does, throw stuff around in her sleep. She stood up, took seven steps, and ran head first into a wall. Chloe that’s dangerous. || “Alex...?” Jackson mumbled.
Eliza came out when she heard all the commotion. “Chloe...are you okay?” || Alex gave up on his search for coffee and went out on the fire escape.
Chloe opened her eyes and looked at Elisa. “Yeah... why do you ask?” || “Aleeex!” Jackson shouted.
“I just heard a lot of noise...” Eliza shrugged. || “Yeah?!” Alex shouted back, not wanting to move
“Oh...” Chloe laughed a little. “That was probably me. I do crazy stuff in my sleep, by what I’ve heard.” || “Nothing! I just wanted to know if you were still alive.” Jackson said.
Eliza smiled. “Alright. Just wanted to make sure you were okay.” || “I’m fine.” Alex said. “I just went to find some coffee...”
“Sorry if I woke you up.” Chloe said. || “You didn’t find any, did you?” Jackson said, walking outside and sitting next to Alex.
“Nah...I wasn’t sleeping.” Eliza said. || “Nope. I should really get some at some point.” Alex sighed
“You weren’t?” Chloe asked. || “Did you even sleep last night?” Jackson said, looking at Alex.

“No...I wasn’t...” Eliza said. || “I tried to...but then I got way too scared so I gave up on that.” Alex shrugged

“Why not?” Chloe frowned. || “Poor you...” Jackson sighed. He might’ve been sarcastic, and he might’ve been genuine.

“That’s fine.” Chloe leaned her head on Eliza’s shoulder, truly adorable. || “I just realized we left Lisa all alone with all our pets.” Jackson laughed.
“Maybe some other time.” Eliza said, putting her arm around Chloe. || “I wonder how long it’s gonna take for her to come after us.” Alex laughed
“Eliza...” Chloe said. || “When we get back, she’ll probably be waiting for us with her army of cats and a crab.” Jackson said.
“Yeah...?” Eliza said. || “I sure hope not. I hate crabs.” Alex said
“Am I cuter than Alex?” Chloe asked, smiling at Eliza. || “Didn’t we find a dog a few days ago?” Jackson asked.

“Definitely.” Eliza sighed. “Honestly I don’t even want to think about him right now.” || “Yeah...we did...” Alex said. “I wonder where it is...”

“Yeah...I feel bad for Jackson now. Dealing with Alex when he hasn’t slept in weeks is hard enough even with coffee.” Eliza said || “Aw...the poor thing...” Alex frowned

“Do you wanna do anything?” Chloe asked. || “Well it’s almost starved itself to death, so let’s check.” Jackson said, heading back into Alex’s apartment.
“Actually, Yeah. I do.” Eliza said. || Alex followed Jackson back into the apartment. “So...what do dogs even eat?”
“Like What?” Chloe said. || “Anything but chocolate, I guess.” Jackson shrugged.
“Go find my brother.” Eliza said. || “How about...stale bread?” Alex asked
“We could do that.” Chloe nodded. || “Eh... I mean... I guess that works...” Jackson said.
“You know his funeral is tomorrow.” Eliza said. “So I wanted to get to say goodbye to him.” || “Well...that’s all I have here.” Alex shrugged. “So it will have to do.”
“You’ll say goodbye, don’t worry.” Chloe said. || “I guess.” Jackson sighed and fed the puppy Alex’s stale bread.
“Not unless I go now.” Eliza said. || “Also...this means we have no more food here...” Alex said
“Well then let’s go.” Chloe said, standing up. || “We’ll have to get some later.” Jackson said.

“Yeah...but what if we run into my parents?” Eliza asked. || “Oh my god.” Alex gasped. “I just figured something out.”

“It’s a little scary to think about...” Eliza said. || “I have to get Eliza and Chloe over here now.” Alex took out his phone and sent a quick text to Eliza.

“Because Alex might have some helpful information.” Eliza grabbed Chloe’s hand and ran out the door. || Alex nodded. “Yeah. And I think Eliza can help.”
“Information about what?” Chloe asked, following Eliza. || “We are the best detectives.” Jackson said. Maybe he was joking.
“My brother’s murder.” Eliza said. || “Nope. Probably not.” Alex laughed
“That definitely sounds helpful.” Chloe said. || “Maybe you’re right. One of us don’t even know what dogs eat.” Jackson smirked.
“Hurry up Chloe!” Eliza said. || “Yeah...I’m kind of an idiot.” Alex admitted
“Okay, Okay!” Chloe said. She was now right next to Eliza. || “Like I don’t already know that.” Jackson laughed.
“I’m sorry...this is just really important to me.” Eliza said. || “Hey, at least I admitted I was an idiot!” Alex glared at Jackson
“I know it is.” Chloe said. || “You’re an adorable idiot that I love.” Jackson put an arm around Alex’s shoulders and kissed his head.
“This better not be a joke...” Eliza sighed. || “I knew that already.” Alex smiled

“I don’t know...but we’re here.” Eliza said running up the stairs and into Alex’s apartment. “Alex?! Jackson?! Are you guys here?!” || “Yeah, we’re here.” Alex said. “Took you long enough.”
“This better not be a joke.” Chloe said as she walked in. || “Hello.” Jackson waved.

Chloe leaned in and whispered to Eliza. “Why don’t you want him to call you that?”

Chloe started chanting ‘Fight, fight fight!’ In her brain. Nit out loud, in her brain.
“Please Eliza. Don’t lie to yourself.” Alex laughed. || “Alex...please stop...” Eliza said.
“Alex... you’re being mean...” Chloe said.
“I’m not being mean. I’m just being myself.” Alex shrugged. || “I’ll admit, I did forget you were like this.” Eliza sighed
“Maybe You should change who you are.” Chloe said. Boom. Roasted.
“Shut up Chloe. We have more important things to deal with.” Alex said.
“Okay.” Chloe said quietly. Thanks for hurting her feelings, Alex.
“Alexander! That was awfully mean.” Eliza said. “You should apologize.”
Jackson and Chloe were glaring at Alex. “Yeah...” Chloe mumbled.
“I don’t do apologies.” Alex shrugged.
“Yes you do.” Jackson said. “I think I remember you telling me that you owed tons of people tons of apologies.”
“Not like I was actually going to apologize.” Alex said.
“Apologize.” Jackson folded his arms. It’s surprising how he’s actually siding with Chloe.
“I’d rather die than apologize. Especially to her.” Alex said
“Fine then.” Chloe glared at Alex. “Die.”
Alex laughed. “I’m just kidding. Sorry Chloe.” || Eliza glared at Alex. “That was so not funny.”
“Thank you. I’m sorry for daring you to die.” Chloe said.
“Don’t worry about it. I deserved that anyway.” Alex shrugged
“So What now?” Jackson asked. “Are we gonna find the giant bird that killed Eliza’s brother?”
Eliza laughed. “Oh my goodness, Jackson shut up.”
“Okay, Fine. I’ll shut up about the bird.” Jackson laughed.
“Thank you.” Eliza smiled.
“Since there’s no bird, are we gonna try and find out who the human who killed Eliza’s brother is?” Jackson asked.
“Nope. We are staying here until one of you gets me coffee.” Alex said
“I’ll get it!” Chloe smiled.
“Thanks kid...” Alex smiled.
“No problem.” Chloe left to go get the coffee for Alex.
“Okay, She is literally the best human being that ever existed.” Alex said
“All because she got you coffee.” Jackson rolled his eyes.
“I bet you’re jealous.” Alex smirked. “Both of you.”
“I’m not jealous.” Jackson folded his arms.
“Yeah. Me either.” Eliza said. || Alex laughed. “Liars.”
“Wow. Does this mean you care more about coffee than you do about anyone else?” Jackson asked.
“It depends on who anyone else is.” Alex shrugged
“Me, Eliza, all those other people you told me about that were written on your arm a while ago.” Jackson said.
“I don’t care about coffee as much as you guys. But it is very close.” Alex said.
“I’m back.” Chloe smiled as she walked back in.
“With coffee?” Alex asked
“Yup.” Chloe said and revealed the coffee she got for Alex. “The people at the counter were being mean. So instead of confronting them, I just walked out.”
“Of my god you’re the best!” Alex took the coffee from Chloe and nearly drank the entire thing.
“Uh... Thanks?” Chloe smiled. || “Wait... Chloe did you steal that coffee?” Jackson asked. “You said that you just walked out...”
“Hey, I steal things all the time. It’s fine.” Alex said. || “Chloe! Don’t steal things!” Eliza sighed
“I’m sorry for stealing...” Chloe looked down. || “Oh my god...” Jackson looked like he might’ve been laughing a little.
“Guys...are we all friends again now?” Eliza asked

Alex looked over at Chloe and frowned. “Dâmn. At least I’m taller than Eliza.” || “Not right now you aren’t.” Eliza laughed, pointing at her shoes which had three inch heels.
“You’re so adorably tiny.” Jackson said. “Even Eliza is taller than you.”
“One day I’ll be taller than you Jackson. One day.” Alex sighed.
“I doubt it.” Jackson said. “Not unless you get heels like Eliza or those big giant stilt things.”
“Maybe I do own heels like Eliza’s.” Alex said
“Why on earth would you own heels?” Jackson asked.
“Because I stole them from her.” Alex shrugged
“I think it’s because Alex would look stunning in heels.” Chloe laughed.
“Okay, It was from the time my friends thought it would be fun to dress me up like a girl.” Alex admitted
“I would love to see you do that again.” Jackson laughed.

“I’m gonna be out in the dumpster with the puppy if anyone needs me, g’night guys.” Jackson said, walking outside to the dumpster.
“Goodnight Jackson.” Eliza said. || Alex went out to the fire escape without saying a word to anyone.
“I’m tired too...” Chloe yawned.
“Alright...I’ll see you tomorrow then Chloe. I’m gonna go see if Alex is alright.” Eliza said heading out into to fire escape after Alex
“Okay.” Chloe went to sleep on Alex’s bed and fell asleep. Adorable.
