Re/ That’s so frustrating. I’m lucky enough to not have to struggle with anxiety, so forgive me if I don’t understand exactly what you’re going through xx Anyway I did a bit of research, and I heard that a good way to deal with anxiety is to pinpoint triggers, basically meaning be aware of times or situations you feel anxious (maybe write them down if you have to) and identify patterns so you can work on confronting the feelings of anxiety.
I also heard that actually picking and scheduling a bit of time each day (like, thirty minutes) just to think about your fears/anxieties on purpose. (It’s suggested that one should leave ‘what-if’ scenarios out of this though and instead try and concentrate on actual fears). Finally, I read that a good calming technique is to pick a certain muscle group, tighten it for a couple of seconds, and then relax and move on to another section. I hope some of this is helpful, and that your anxiety doesn’t get in the way of you having a great time with your friend xx
